Brian Ruh
Brian Ruh writes about film, animation, and Japanese popular culture, and edits the website AnimeResearch.com. He has a BA in philosophy from Purdue University and an MA in Asian cultures and languages from the University of Texas at Austin. He is currently a PhD student in the Department of Communication and Culture at Indiana University and resides in Bloomington with his wife, Sarah, and daughter, Charlotte.

Some of his previous writings have appeared in the online magazine PopMatters.com.

Brian's essay on an American perspective of Oshii's films appeared in the Japanese-language book Oshii Mamoru-ron: Memento Mori.
